It's that easy to clean the Turtleneck Straw®
Even if a straw made of stainless-steel is often the better alternative to a plastic straw, than a straw made of glass – especially when it comes to safety and design – these reusable straws are often perceived as less hygienic.
Because: due to the opaque material of these stainless-steel drinking straws, beverage residues are not so easy to recognize and often leave guests with an uneasy feeling. We dispel this prejudice:
Compared to conventional stainless-steel or metal straws, the Turtleneck Straw® is flexible and has a large opening so that the water can flow through even better when cleaning. This means that it cannot only be cleaned with the cleaning brush, but also in the dishwasher without leaving any residue
Simply bend the drinking straw straight before cleaning, then clean by hand with the brush or put in the dishwasher’s cutlery basket – that’s it.
By the way, the material of our straw alternative also helps ensure that the Turtleneck Straw® can be cleaned at least as hygienically as a straw made of glass. Because our stainless steel is extremely robust and resistant and can withstand temperatures in the dishwasher of up to 80 degrees without any problems – germs and bacteria are removed just as safely as beverage residues.
Conclusion:
This means that our drinking straw alternative is just as easy, quick and residue-free to clean as a straw made of glass – whether at home or in the catering trade and was even tested for hygiene and awarded a certificate!
At home:
In general, you have two options for cleaning the Turtleneck Straw®:
1. In the dishwasher
The easiest way to clean the Turtleneck Straw® is in the dishwasher. To do this, simply bend the drinking straw straight and put it upright in the cutlery basket or alternatively place it on the rods of the dishwasher. Thereby water and detergent flow through the large opening and clean our reusable straw as thoroughly as cutlery, dishes and glasses. The hot water also ensures that germs and bacteria are safely removed.
2) With the cleaning brush:
If you don’t have a dishwasher, our Turtleneck Straw® can also be cleaned quickly and easily with a cleaning brush that is included with every straw set. To do this, simply bend the drinking straw straight and soak it in hot soapy water before cleaning. This is important in order to remove dried-on residues well. The cleaning brush does the rest. Then rinse the stainless-steel straw under warm water and let it dry on a towel or standing in a container. The Turtleneck Straw® is then immediately ready for use again.
In the gastronomy:
Since our straw alternatives are extremely robust and easily withstand temperatures of up to 80 degrees, cleaning the Turtleneck Straw® in the dishwasher is the best solution in gastronomy. Our reusable straws are quickly ready for use again and are guaranteed to be hygienically clean
To do this, simply bend the Turtleneck Straw® straight and place it in the regular cutlery basket or onto the small rods. Then just wash it with the normal wash program – done.
Our tip:
For particularly “sticky” beverages, we recommend placing our stainless-steel straw in a water bath shortly before the cleaning. This way, stubborn residues can be removed quickly and easily.
